• Wake Up #Flawless

The clock might have fallen back an hour, but that doesn’t mean we are all waking up #flawless like Beyoncé in the morning.  Late nights and even earlier mornings make it hard to look refreshed.  With a season of indulgence on the horizon, staying away from sugar, carbs and wine will only get harder.   But we have some tips and easy makeup tricks that will help you to look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed; so you can honestly say, “I woke up like this.”

Before your Beauty Sleep:
MOISTURIZE!  Dehydrated skin is the first giveaway of age and tiredness.  Applying a good moisturizer or serum to clean skin, allows your skin to soak up all the beneficial vitamins and hydration that it really needs.

Actually get your Beauty Sleep:
Turn off the electronics early and spray some lavender and vanilla aromas to relax.  Eight hours is best, but just get as much sleep as you can!

Morning Makeup Routine:
Eyes: Put a light cream (never stark white) eyeliner in the bottom inner rim of your eye.  It will make your eyes appear more open and awake.  Add a coat of mascara and you are good to go!
PRO TIP: Put more highlighter eyeshadow in the inner corner and underneath the tail of the eyebrow to lift the eye.

Cheeks: Use a cream blush on the apple of your cheeks.  Cream blush is more hydrating than a powder.
PRO TIP: Add a highlighter on the cheek bones and down the center of the nose.  It will draw light to those areas and give a “lit from within look.”

Lips: Use a translucent lip color for a wash of color.
PRO TIP: Add a bit of highlighter on the crease in your top lip to make your lips look fuller and more voluminous.

No Time for Makeup?
What you wear can also make you appear tired and sluggish, but all it takes is a great accessory to make your outfit pop.  So grab your fave statement necklace and you’re ready to walk the runway.

Booze and Chinese takeout are surefire ways to wake up to puff. “Alcohol and sodium make you retain fluid,” says Dr. Engelman. If you overindulge, sleep propped up with a few pillows to encourage drainage from the eye area.
