“If you can imagine what you desire, then you can become what you imagine”, is her credo.  Finding her true passion after college, Angela graduated from the Cosmetology Program at Gordon Phillips Beauty School and the Teacher’s Program at Empire Beauty School shortly thereafter.  Angela went on to become an examiner for the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology and a Master Educator for The Milady Career Institute.  Angela’s work can be seen on television, film, print, ad campaigns, commercials, magazines, runways and celebrities. Angela’s knowledge of the beauty industry coupled with her artistic abilities and genuine personality make her a sought after artist.



Brittany has been in the beauty industry for 7 years. She graduated from Lansdale School of Cosmetology.  Brittany has had extensive training with Paul Mitchell and Redken educators. She has gained excellence experience in all areas of the salon and is a well-rounded stylist that excels in formal styling, bridal, cutting and coloring.  Brittany also is a Blow dry Specialist and a Make-up Artist. She loves to pay attention to detail to make you feel primped, relaxed and beautiful!!



Jenn Sampson has always loved everything in the beauty industry.  She first followed her passion by getting her manicurist license and doing nails for a year.  She loved it so much she went back to school for her cosmetology license.  Just recently, Jenn received her teacher’s license as well.  She loves to make people feel great about themselves and she expresses that through excitement of all things nail, hair and makeup.  She regularly does updos, wedding, and proms.



Kim Bright attended the Paul Mitchell School of Delaware for cosmetology with a concertation in makeup.  She has previous worked for such recognizable brands, as MAC Cosmetics, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and Lancome.  As well as being a freelance makeup artist for Zyn Beauty, Kim is the Senior Make-Up Artist for one of the largest hip hop clubs in the country.   She specializes in television and editorial style and glam makeup



Monah Sekai is a licensed Master Cosmetologist, specializing in skincare and cosmetic artistry for 19 years. She has worked in the industry for a multitude of salon & spas throughout Pennsylvania and Georgia, as well as managing for cosmetic lines, such as Lancome, Dior and presently, MAC.  Monah’s ability to provide “custom blend foundation”  ensures that clients look flawless, creating perfect skin that enhances each client’s natural glow. Monah enjoys all elements of artistry, from natural looks to the avant-garde; creating unique looks tailored for the individual.



Shannon White started her hair career at the young age of 16. She received her state hours to become a cosmetologist in high school at Bok Tech High, where she soon after received her license.  Shannon continued her education and later received her teacher’s license.  Shannon trained under some of Philadelphia’s finest salon owners.  Because she will prescribe reconstructors, hot oil treatment, hair masks or even construct something on her own to help personalize your hair experience with her, she was given the nickname, “The Prescriber.”



Shawntel M. Ward, known simply as Shawntel is an up and coming, business and life strategist known for her warmth & generous personality. She has allowed herself to only be surrounded by positivity in her environment, which sends a powerful message to others that want to live up to their greatness.  It is a message she has learned from her own life and one she is helping others apply to their lives.  In addition to being a Licensed Life Insurance Producer, A Make-Up Artist. She has been an employee of the American Red Cross for over 16 years, where she serves as a liaison in the Donor Recruitment Department which assists various sponsor’s and volunteers.



Vernae Saxon is an accomplished artist, which specializes in providing her clients with a natural finish. Vernae has more than twenty years of experience working with mainstream cosmetics companies. Besides working for Zyn Beauty, Vernae is a graduate of Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy and she is also an experienced esthetician.




Nirvana_PhotoNirvana, Founder and Co-CEO:

Nirvana Dove, a Harlem, NY native, grew up with hair as a central part of her life.  With weekly hair appointments as the standard, she was shocked when she went to college and her options for quality and affordable hair care were limited.  As a result she quickly learned to care for her own tresses through trial and error, eventually becoming a “kitchen beautician” for her healthy, natural mane.  While majoring in Communications and Sociology, Nirvana has always been interested in the role of beauty and hair in women’s lives.









Zakiya, Founder and Co-CEO:

Zakiya Black grew up in Columbus, OH, with a fashionable, busy working mother, and learned early on about the elements of style. She spent hours shadowing her mother’s makeup routine and creating looks of her own in front of a vanity mirror. While majoring in Communications and Marketing in college, she always hoped that she’d end up in the high-energy, fast-paced world of fashion and beauty.









Madeline, Social Media Director:

Madeline Tomchick grew up in a suburb of Philly, always so intrigued by the glamour of the industry.  After her graduation from American University in DC, she went to work for a large multi-channel retailer.  After returning to DC, Madeline met Nirvana and started with Zyn Beauty.  Madeline has a certificate in Social Media Management and MPS in Technology Management (in May) from Georgetown University.
