• How to Keep Your Blowout and Workout!

Since we’re always on the quest for healthier living, we spend a lot of time swapping recipes, work out tips, products and other gems for making living healthy lifestyles easier.  While we often find it relatively easy to follow a recipe to replace an unhealthy food option with something that works better for our bodies, or change up our workout routines for better results, the biggest issue on this journey is just how to keep our blowouts intact while working out.  Here’s a list of the best tips we’ve come up with so far…but keep in mind, this list is ever changing and we’ll update it whenever we come up with new ideas!

  1. Set a weekly work plan:  If you like to wear your hair blown out, time your blow out appt for the time of week when your workout is lower impact (think yoga or pilates classes).  This will let you rock your blow out for a few days before you transition into higher impact, sweat prone workouts.
  2. Try a dry shampoo: Apply a little dry shampoo at your roots and allow it to dry. The shampoo will absorb oil and odor leaving you with hair that is more easily re-styled and that smells pretty great.
  3. Pull your hair up:  Piling your hair into a topknot is a great way to prevent the ends from getting damp and frizzing.  Just make sure to let your hair dry completely before taking the topknot down.
  4. Wear a headband: A wide headband will soak up the sweat as you workout.  Like the topknot, you should either let the headband dry completely before removing or remove and quickly replace with a dry headband until the edges of your hair are completely dry.
  5. Turn your blow out into a beach wavy or twist out style:  If all else fails and after a high impact workout, your blow out is kaput, braid or twist your hair and release after it is dry for a beach wavy or naturally curly look.
